My first Modern Past Present piece was created after I lost my grandmother in 2009, who was my best friend. After her death, I began archiving all of her old pictures and discovered amazing photos from her birth up until her passing. It was such a blessing to have the story of her life captured in so many photos. At her funeral, I made a piece that in homage of her life was comprised of 300 images of her overplayed with an iconic shot my grandfather took of her in the 50’s in California. To me, the completion of those photos paired with that striking snap shot truly exemplified her life.
