WOODWARD
APARTMENT BUILDING
The Woodward Wight building dates back to the 1920’s and is located in the middle of the historic warehouse district of New Orleans. It originally housed hardware goods that came off the port, but in 1987 the building was meticulously redone and repurposed into an apartment building with 200 rooms. In 2015 we approached the owner of the building asking if we could assist in art needs. We came to find in over 30 years, the building had never had any art in their many hallways and communal spaces. The Woodward was thrilled with the idea of having art and provided us with historical photos of the building. Using these snap shots, existing brand content, as well as New Orleans imagery, we were able to create one of a kind works that showcase the life of the building and as well as the city around it. Within a year the management and staff informed us that the rental occupancy had grew in leaps and bounds, crediting it to the space being enhanced through art. Tenants also shared the same sentiment by voicing stories of their pride and love of the custom pieces that are near their door and on their floors.
